Quixtar & consumer protection
Quixtar Inc. seeks to exceed customer expectations and strives to be a leader in protecting the interests of consumers. Our reputation as a company and a business is defined by the experiences people have when they interact with Quixtar Inc. or with Independent Business Owners (IBOs) powered by Quixtar. Whether or not someone decides to become a customer or pursue a Quixtar-powered business of their own, our goal is that everyone who comes into contact with Quixtar and affiliated IBOs has a positive experience.
Quixtar has a comprehensive set of consumer safeguards. As part of its IBO Rules Conduct, Quixtar:
- Requires every prospect be given a disclosure document that:
- provides the average earning experience of IBOs
- advises that IBOs must exert time and effort in order to succeed
- discloses that some IBOs make money from the sale of privately produced sales materials.
- Requires that all materials provided to prospects promoting the business opportunity be authorized by the company prior to use.
- Requires that any materials explaining the Independent Business Ownership Plan be authorized by the company prior to use.
- Prohibits statements that imply, promise, or guarantee any specific amount of sales, income, profit, or earnings that can be achieved through a Quixtar-powered business.
- Requires disclosure messages to purchasers of training and support materials that indicate their voluntary nature and remind IBOs to monitor their expenses of such materials.
- Requires sellers of training and support materials to offer a 180-day buy-back of any materials.
- Requires producers of functions and meetings to offer a 30-day satisfaction guarantee on the meeting-ticket purchase price.
In addition, Quixtar has guidelines on recommended percentages of training and support income versus income generated by the Independent Business Ownership Plan.
Further, comprehensive disclosure documents on training and support materials, including the Business Support Materials Arbitration Agreement that all new IBOs must be shown, make clear that:
- Purchase of these materials is completely voluntary
- Other IBOs may earn income from their sale, and
- These materials are covered by a buy-back policy.
